social capital

dear friends: this is my inaugural blog post. please advise as to how to use this along the way (can't i just have this generally open or accessible somehow?)
To the point: I will be forwarding a very simple essay/ch. on social capital that I will be using in 668. As opposed to other related work, this one is both very clear and specifically oriented to community development (interestingly distinguishing communities of place and interest, observing lts. and advantages of engaging each). As we think about the missions of the Jackson Center and UNC NOW, my thought for the day is: the Jackson Center is generally committed to building social capital while UNC NOW is generally committed to investing it in social/economic/and political enterprise. The two are obviously, intimately connected. Even so, this helps me to understand the relation between the two. Thoughts?? "dp"

Admin Team, Here we go!

So this is our way to share info that we find. Link it to something so you check it often. It can be found at www.jacksoncenter.blogspot.com!

I'll post updates on here from now on instead of just emailing.
